Struggling in NBA Fantasy?

As you enter week 8 of your NBA fantasy league, the team you drafted may not have panned out the way you had carlos_boozer12expected. You’re probably thinking  “why exactly did I take Elton Brand or Carlos Boozer in the first and second rounds?” Everyone predicted they would be atop the leaders board in points, rebounds, and blocks but injuries have plagued both players.

kevin_martin1Maybe you grabbed Kevin Martin in the 3rd or 4th round figuring, and rightly so, that he would be a steal. However, a nagging ankle injury has kept him sidelined in 12 of his last 14 games. Michael Redd is not playing up to his premier potential and either is Josh Smith or Josh Howard.

Fear not. There are still several players putting up solid numbers for their teams right now that are available in most leagues. Hopefully they can help you win some games while your other players figure out how to shoot again.

C.J. Watson, a guard for Golden State, has been on a tear in the last month. He is shooting 50% from the field and 91% from the charity stripe to a total of 162 points over the time period. He has also compiled 41 assists and 25 steals, making him an all-around fantasy contributor. In Yahoo! fantasy, he is available in almost 90% of leagues.

Quentin Richardson, guard/forward for the Knicks, has been lights out from downtown in the last month. He has bagged 29 3-pointers on his way to 189 points over that time period. That’s more 3’s than Rasheed Wallace and Mo Williams have in the same time. Richardson has also been active on the glass, snatching 78 rebounds. He is available in just about half of Yahoo! leagues. Word of warning, he was sidelined last game with the flu, although that was his first missed game this season.

On a struggling Utah Jazz team, C.J. Miles has been able to put up some great statistics over the last month. He is shooting 50% from the field and 96% from the free-throw line and has hit 20 3-pointers to a total of 205 points over the time period. That’s more points than Steve Nash and Allen Iverson have scored over the last month. Miles is available in nearly 80% of Yahoo! leagues.

Good luck with the next few weeks of fantasy, and check back next month for another column of information vital to your success this season.

First of all most of the players that you say are struggling, or not living up to potential, have been hurt by injuries this year. Also Boozer has never been a solid contributor of blocks.

    That is all
